What’s at Universal Orlando for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie?

As The Super Mario Galaxy Movie hits theaters, Universal Orlando Resort is celebrating with limited time offerings in the parks and at CityWalk through April 13. There are also additions for the film at Universal Orlando Hollywood but we’re focusing on the central Florida location. Most of the fun is inside Epic Universe but there are also things to see, and buy, at CityWalk which does not have an admission price.

Universal Orlando: The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Limited Time Offerings

Mario Photo Op at Cinemark CityWalk Movie Theater

At Universal City Walk, you’ll find a massive, walkthrough photo op for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie right in front of the Cinemark movie theater. The star shaped tunnel is surrounded by the usual Universal film decorations, this time themed to Mario, that surround the round courtyard.

This is all right next to the Super Nintendo World store at CityWalk. This is also quite unique as there is only one other Super Nintendo World store in the U.S. It’s located at the Universal Studios Hollywood CityWalk.

Yoshi Meet and Greet at Epic Universe

To celebrate The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Universal Orlando Resort has introduced Yoshi as a meet and greet character. He is only appearing in Super Nintendo World at Epic Universe. This is the resort’s newest park. It opened in 2025. While you can almost always meet Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach, often meet Toad and sometimes meet Donkey Kong, this is Yoshi’s first time visiting.

Special The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Themed Food

Both of the specialty food items that are part of this promotional event are inside the Epic Universe theme park. A ticket is required for entry to enjoy these goodies in Super Nintendo World.

• Galaxy Popcorn, available at the walk up Turbo Boost Treats window next to the Mario Kart ride, is rainbow popcorn with edible glitter that has a berry flavor.
• There is also a Rosalina Cupcake at the Toadstool Cafe restaurant. The cupcake flavor is blue velvet with blueberry cheesecake and lemon buttercream inside and a chocolate crown and star on top.

Special Merchandise at Parks and Super Nintendo World

Special merchandise for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has debuted at Universal Orlando Resort. We can expect some of this to outlast the April 13 celebration end. Depending on availability you might find a The Super Mario Galaxy Movie logo black shirt for adults and action figures and play sets inspired by the film. There are also adorable yellow and blue Luma shoulder pals that light up and make sounds. These tiny friends are sold separately but interact with each other when you have two.

Yes, these colorful cuties are available for purchase at CityWalk. You do not need to purchase a ticket to visit this shopping and dining area that’s just outside of Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida.

Universal Orlando FAQ: Super Mario Galaxy Edition

Is it free to park at CityWalk?

No, there is a cost to park at Universal CityWalk. It’s the same price as if you were visiting the parks. They all share the same parking garage structures.

You may find that parking is free after 6 p.m. when tollbooths are unattended. This doesn’t always apply, especially if there are special events, like Halloween Horror Nights or Rock The Universe, taking place.

How much is CityWalk parking at Universal Orlando?

Regular Self Parking is $35 but if you pay in advance online it’s $32.

Parking is included with both the Preferred or Premier Annual Pass.

Does the CityWalk movie theater validate parking?

Yes, Universal says you can “receive a cash reimbursement at the Universal Cinemark Box Office once you purchase two or more matinee cinema tickets or show your pre-purchased cinema tickets along with your tickets receipt and paid Regular Parking receipt.” This is valid for Regular Parking on the date of purchase, for matinee showings from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m  with both tickets on one receipt.

Where is the Super Nintendo World store at Universal?

In Orlando, it’s located just inside CityWalk when you exit the moving walk way area. On the right, you’ll see the movie theater. The next store on the right is the Super Nintendo World store. It is connected to the larger Universal Studios Store at CityWalk.

When did the Nintendo store open at Universal Orlando Resort CityWalk?

The Super Nintendo World store opened the same year as Epic Universe in 2025. It is not a special, temporary addition for The Super Mario Galaxy movie. The Super Nintendo World store in Orlando is a permanent addition that’s open year round.
