Halloween Party Itinerary Breakdown
Arrive by 3:30 pm
Arrive at the Magic Kingdom turnstile entrance by 3:30 PM. You’ll be allowed entry by 4:00 PM and handed a party wristband for the night. Arriving a little early gives you a head start on the lines that build up fast once the party kicks off.
4:00 pm: Go Straight for the Rare Characters
Jack Skellington and Sally, and the Seven Dwarfs are two of the most popular character experiences at the entire event. Lines for both hit 60 to 120 minutes quickly and don’t recover much as the night goes on.
If meeting Jack and Sally is a priority for your family, get in line by 4:00. Waiting until later in the night is a gamble you’ll likely regret.
4:00 – 7:00 pm: Rides, Snacks, and Exploring
Use this window to hit the Halloween overlay rides (more on those below), explore the park before the crowds build, and have a special party snack or dinner.
7:00 pm: Party Starts
This is when trick-or-treating opens, special meet-and-greets begin in full, and the dance parties and atmospheric entertainment get going.
Two brand new experiences for 2026:
A Masquerade with Stitch — Join Stitch, Lilo, and Angel at Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland. Stitch hosts an ever-changing masquerade where every accessory he tries on sparks a theme swap. It’s playfully unpredictable all night long.
Spirited Swashbucklers — Sail over to Adventureland, where Captain Jack Sparrow has dropped anchor to lead a swashbuckling series of pirate antics.
Also keep an ear out for the Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet making their way through Frontierland. They’re a cult favorite and easy to miss if you’re not looking!
10:00 pm: Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular Fireworks
For the full fireworks experience, including perimeter bursts, a spot a little further back on Main Street gives you the best of both. Or, arrive earlier and get a spot closer to the castle, the highlight of the show is a giant Jack Skellington puppet that’s best appreciated up close.
10:35 pm: Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
Head straight to the Cinderella Castle stage after the fireworks. The Sanderson Sisters host this stage show with the help of Disney villains including Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie, and Maleficent. Incredible visual effects and fun choreography make this one of the best live shows at Magic Kingdom.
It runs a few times per night, so if you can’t catch it here, the midnight showing is your backup.
11:15 pm: Boo to You Halloween Parade
Boo to You is of the best parades at any of the Disney Parks. It’s the toast of the spooky evening and you won’t want to miss it! The Headless Horseman leads it off, followed by a full procession of floats, characters, and dancers.
The parade runs twice per night. If you catch the earlier showing around 8 pm, follow the parade route toward Cinderella Castle to hold your spot for the fireworks. That little move saves a lot of scrambling later.
End of Night
After the parade, grab a pumpkin treat on Main Street, take your castle photos, and let yourself take in the Halloween atmosphere. The park officially closes at midnight, but shops on Main Street tend be open a little later.

Worth Prioritizing: Halloween Overlay Rides
Many rides are open during the party, but a handful have been given special Halloween treatments that make them different from their daytime versions.
Space Mountain — The coaster is immersed in complete pitch black with spooky tunes replacing the usual soundtrack.
Mad Tea Party — Special lighting turns the spinning teacups into a fun after-dark experience. It’s usually a short wait and a lot of fun for little ones.
Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor — The animated monsters make an appearance, doing improvised crowd work, and giving everyone a few laughs along the way. The space doubles as a trick-or-treat stop during the party.
Haunted Mansion — Head to the graveyard to meet original characters like Lady Renata, Madam Carlotta, and Broome the Butler performing and improvising on the lawn outside. They interact with guests, and it’s one of the best hidden gems of the night.
Plan Ahead: Rare Character Meet and Greets
Character meets are one of the biggest draws of MNSSHP, and also one of the biggest time sinks. Here’s what you need to know about the most in-demand ones.
Jack Skellington and Sally — They meet in Town Square Theater and are the single most popular meet of the entire event. Lines reach 60 to 120 minutes and build fast. Get in line by 4:10 pm if this is your top priority.
The Seven Dwarfs — Lines for this one build quickly and don’t recover well throughout the night. Head to the meet and greet area at Pete’s Silly Sideshow around 5 pm for the best shot at a manageable wait.
Pooh and Friends in Halloween Costumes — A fan-favorite and one of the most photogenic meets of the night. Lines are most manageable early in the party, around 7 to 8 pm.
Mickey and Minnie in Halloween Costumes — They now meet together in Town Square Theater. The line moves faster than it looks, so don’t be discouraged by the crowd.
A few characters also wander the park rather than holding a formal queue: keep an eye out for the Country Bears and the Hitchhiking Ghosts making appearances in Frontierland throughout the night.
Must-Do vs. Skip: When Time Gets Tight
No matter how good your plan is, something will take longer than expected. Here’s how to triage on the fly.
Must-do:
- Disney’s Not So Spooky Spectacular fireworks
- Boo to You Halloween Parade
- Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular
- Trick-or-Treating
- Your top one or two characters (or top two rides)
Nice to have:
- Masquerade with Stitch (new for 2026)
- Spirited Swashbucklers with Captain Jack Sparrow (new for 2026)
- Halloween overlay rides
- Cadaver Dans Barbershop Quartet
If you have time:
- PhotoPass Magic Shots in Fantasyland and Liberty Square
- Princess Fairytale Hall villain takeover
Consider skipping:
- Regular, non-overlay rides. The lines are long and it’s the same experience you can have on any regular park day.

Party Tips
Coordinate your costume and plan for the heat. Group and family costumes make for incredible photos and a lot of great moments throughout the night. That said, Florida is hot and humid in August and September, even after dark. Choose breathable fabrics, bring a mini fan, and check Disney’s official costume guidelines before you pack.
Bring a backpack. You’ll collect more candy than you expect, and the party always has exclusive merchandise you can’t find during a regular park day.
Pack a poncho. Florida rain is fast and hard to predict. A folded poncho takes up almost no space in your bag and is much easier to manage in dense parade and show crowds than an open umbrella.
Place your mobile food orders early. Mobile order windows fill up fast once the party starts. If you’re planning a snack run during the event, place your order well before you’re hungry.
If It Rains
Florida weather is part of the deal, and it’s worth having a backup plan in your back pocket. Some entertainment can be affected by rain, including the parade, fireworks, or shows.
If the weather turns, pivot to indoor character meets at Town Square Theater, stop into Monsters Inc. Laugh Floor, or head to indoor rides. Florida showers usually pass fast. A poncho and a little patience go a long way.
